How to pick a kitchen sink size

Sinks come in various sizes and bowl layouts. The right one depends on your platform, the cabinet underneath and how you use your kitchen every day.

1. Measure the platform and cabinet

Note the length and depth of the platform where the sink will sit, and the inside width of the cabinet below. The sink must fit both.

2. Choose the bowl layout

A single large bowl suits big cooking vessels. Double bowls let you wash and rinse separately. A bowl with a drainboard gives a place for utensils to dry.

3. Decide how it is fitted

A sink can sit on top of the platform or be fixed underneath it. This changes how the stone is cut, which is why we recommend choosing the sink before the platform is cut.

4. Match it with your platform

Steel sinks suit every stone. Quartz sinks come in colours that can match or contrast with your granite.
