Natural stone
Kota Stone in Veraval
Kota stone is a fine-grained natural limestone from the Kota region of Rajasthan. It is a practical, long-lasting choice for floors, verandahs, staircases and outdoor paving, and Somnath Marble keeps all types of Kota stone for customers in Veraval and Somnath.
About Kota Stone
Kota stone has been used in Indian homes, schools and commercial buildings for generations. Its tight, even grain makes it durable underfoot, and a natural or textured surface gives good grip, which is why it is common in verandahs, washing areas, parking and around the house.
Kota stone is usually seen in its familiar blue-green and brown shades, and it can be finished in different ways, from a natural surface to a polished one. The right finish depends on where it will be laid: polished for indoor floors, a rougher surface where the floor may get wet.
Tell us the area, the location (indoor or outdoor) and whether you need it laid in rooms, on steps or outside. Our team will show you the Kota stone types we have and help you choose.

Before you buy Kota Stone
- Choose a natural or textured surface where the floor may be wet, and polished for indoor rooms.
- Check the thickness suits the load: parking and industrial floors need sturdier stone.
- Kota stone is a natural limestone, so shade varies between pieces; mix them when laying for an even look.
- Ask about the sizes available so you can plan the layout and reduce wastage.
